iCepts Ship Manager now available for your shipping needs
iCepts has
completed the creation of Ship Manager as a stand-alone shipping
solution that integrates to your ERP or warehouse solution. Ship
Manager is a shipping solution created in Microsoft's .NET
environment.
Ship Manager
ships packages via UPS, USPS, or other. Ship Manager reads shipping
information from your ERP or Warehouse Solution and communicates that
information to the appropriate carrier, prints shipping labels and then
passes the shipment information back to your ERP or Warehouse solution.
No
rate or tracking information resides within Ship Manager; all such
information is provided by the carrier’s web service so the rate and
tracking information is always provided accurately and real-time..
Ship Manager
supports an electronic scale for automatically recording package
weights. If a scale is used it Ship Manager also has a hands free
mode that will automatically add a package to the shipment when the
scale records a weight.
Ship Manager
supports the printing of plain paper labels to a laser printer or
adhesive backed labels in a thermal printer.
A scanner can
be used to read bar coded order numbers on pick tickets. This
eliminates possible data entry errors when entering the order
number.

Picking should NOT be a scavenger hunt

You have heard many times
that inventory accuracy is the key to managing a successful operation.
There are many ways that we skirt the rules and create inventory
inaccuracy. We do it by not issuing the proper documentation for
products, we take things from stock for Will Call that never get picked
up and we take items as samples that are never recorded. Unfortunately,
there are many ways to increase our inventory inaccuracy. One thing we
can control very easily is making sure our picking processes are done
with a high degree of accuracy.
